Camp Terralak’s goal is to get people outside, off their phones, and enjoying the great state we call Texas. Tents not your thing? No problem. They have everything from a barn loft to cabins, or even a teepee. They also host boutique country weddings for up to 50 guests, or family-style dinner parties for 25 or fewer guests.
“People keep saying ‘it’s like mini Marfa’ when I tell them what we’re doing ,”
Founder Ashley Waldman said, a product manager for a local Web optimization company. “I get the comparison–it’s camping, but with a few more creature comforts like AC and cozy beds.” In addition to overnight guests, Camp Terralak will host boutique weddings and farm-to-table dinners served family-style inside the barn. Guests can also enjoy a horseshoe pit, bocce ball, two fire pits or nearby disc golf and river access. Downtown San Marcos is just a 15-minute drive, and Austin is about 40 minutes.
